Tom Hiddleston as Loki
Thor: Love And Thunder: Loki Was Never Considered For An Appearance!

Thor: Love And Thunder was released to mixed reviews last month. It brought back a ton of characters we've seen in the Thor films throughout the years. Everyone from Thor (Chris Hemsworth) himself to Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) was there! We even had time to squeeze in Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) in a cameo! One character was noticeably absent though, that of course being Loki (Tom Hiddleston). This makes sense, since Loki is off having his own adventures in his very own series. What might actually be surprising is that he was never even considered to be in the film!

This was revealed in a recent interview between Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, one of the Thor: Love And Thunder writers, and The Hollywood Reporter. It wasn't just that the version of Loki we still have alive isn't the Loki we've been watching since the original Thor, though that probably didn't help. After all, Thor doesn't even know that there's a Loki that's still alive out there. Still, Robinson had this to say when asked.

"Never on the table from what I understand. He's in Loki-land. He's doing his own thing. They are on two separate journeys."

Pretty plain and simple if you ask me! To be honest, I don't think that Thor: Love And Thunder needed Loki anyway. Neither did Tom Hiddleston, since obviously he's been asked the same kinds of questions before. He's revealed in previous interviews that he feels like they've done everything they can when it comes to exploring the dynamic between Loki and his brother Thor.

The second season of Loki is already in production, and though the original director isn't returning, fans still can't wait to see Hiddleston return. He decided to pursue other opportunities but it doesn't sound like he ended on bad terms with Marvel. In a different interview with THR, he told them how he approached the project.

"I would say that when I joined Loki, it was always going to be those six episodes. We were treating it like a movie, and we were running it like a movie. We weren't doing it in the showrunner system. So it was a lot to direct these six episodes, and I gave it all of my energy and everything I had in my soul and in my heart. I threw everything I loved about Marvel at it. So I always intended just to do these six." Kate Herron, Loki director, told THR.

Thor: Love And Thunder is still playing in some theaters! Meanwhile, Loki will air on Disney+ sometime in the future!
