Black Adam Dwayne Johnson
Black Adam Not Doing Well at the Box Office

Okay, DC fans. We all know that Black Adam wasn’t exactly the best DC movie ever released. Then again, following the spectacular The Batman was never going to be easy. By now we all know that Black Adam hasn’t been setting the box office on fire, and it isn’t hard to see why.

With that being said, I don’t have anything against the film. It wasn’t my favorite but I enjoyed Dwayne Johnson as the titular lead character, and the JSA was quite fun. The movie just lacked… something.

I have to admit, however, seeing Superman in that post-credit scene had me excited enough at the prospect of a Black Adam 2. If only to see Henry Cavill return as the Man of Steel once again!

So, if thinks are looking up.and it seems as though they want to eventually have these two characters clash, what’s the problem? The fact that Black Adam hasn’t been doing so hot at the box office. A lot of reports have come out, claiming that the film is actually going to lose money. Warner Bros. Discovery has refuted these claims, though.

The latest projections, courtesy of Variety, claim the film is expected to stop earning money at around $400 million. That would put it at a loss somewhere between $50 million and $100 million.

The recent early push to have Black Adam released digitally might be able to make up for those sales though, since Warner Bros. Discovery seems to think that the film is going to break even instead. If it breaks even we’re far more likely to see a sequel featuring a clash between these two DC powerhouses.

Besides, I think with a bit of tweaking a sequel to Black Adam could do really well! Will it actually? Well, I don’t know. Only time will tell but for now I’ll remain cautiously optimistic.

Black Adam is currently available to own on digital platforms, and is even still playing some theaters!
