It's still hard to believe we're going to get a Blue Beetle film coming to theaters. Out of all the potential heroes to get a film or series, Blue Beetle was pretty low on my list. Then again, I would have said the same thing about Peacemaker before seeing The Suicide Squad and his subsequent series. I've always liked Blue Beetle too, so it's not as though I'm disappointed. We haven't seen much in regards to the film, but we do know that Xolo Maridueña will be playing the titular hero. We also now know that Xolo Maridueña is excited to try on the suit! That makes sense, especially since we're all eager to actually see the suit! If we're lucky, that'll happen soon... but I wouldn't hold my breath.

During the DC FanDome we did get to see some concept art, but that's not the same as seeing the real thing! Still, seeing something concrete and real in regards to Blue Beetle is pretty awesome. Xolo Maridueña also discussed the upcoming film, how excited he is, and a little, tiny bit of what we can expect.

"All I can think about is how exciting it's going to be. It's going to touch on a lot of things that haven't been touched on before in superhero movies.... I haven't had the chance to put on the suit yet or anything like that. Once it happens, it'll feel real."

That could mean pretty much anything, but as we approach the release date we'll undoubtedly learn more. It's only a matter of time before we see the suit, trailers, and eventually the full film in movie theaters. Hell, if we're lucky maybe we'll get to see Blue Beetle cross with Leslie Grace's Batgirl.

Blue Beetle will hit movie theatres on August 18, 2023! Well, so long as it isn't delayed like other recent DC films.
