The Nintendo Direct on Wednesday was a really fun event where we got to see a ton of cool announcements! There was a lot of JRPG which is turning the Switch into quite the RPG machine. One of the big announcements was Xenoblade Chronicles 3! The sci-fi JRPG series is getting a third entry and it's not even that far out! Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will be hitting the Nintendo Switch this September! That's only about seven months away, which is basically right around the corner. When it comes to video games, anyway. Nintendo was even kind enough to show us a trailer at the Nintendo Direct, and now I'm happy to share it with all of you.
Here's the trailer for the upcoming Xenoblade Chronicles 3!
In a press release, Nintendo had this to say.
“Players will step into the roles of protagonists Noah and Mio amid turmoil between the hostile nations of Keves and Agnus. Six characters hailing from those nations will take part in a grand tale with ‘life’ as its central theme.”
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 came out several years ago and was already having some issues running on the Switch hardware. That's not to say it was a bad game, I actually really enjoyed it. With that being said, I'm left curious on how this sequel will end up performing, especially since it seems prettier than Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I'm sure Nintendo can make it work though! God knows they've done more with less. The original Pokemon games were basically held together by tape, nearly ripping apart at the seams.
The Xeno series had its debut all the way back on the Playstation 1. Xenogears was the first game, but the series has expanded greatly since then. Xenoblade Chronicles was released on the Nintendo Wii, followed by Xenoblade Chronicles X on the WII U. Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 are both available on the Switch though, since Xenoblade Chronicles 1 was rereleased on the Switch.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will be released this September on the Nintendo Switch.
