The Callisto Protocol, the new Dead Space looking game that isn't Dead Space, got a brand new trailer recently! Striking Distance Studios looks like they're going to knock it out of the park. I might be putting too much into it, but I'm really hoping that The Callisto Protocol is as awesome as I'm hoping it will be.

The new trailer is over two minutes long and gives us our best look yet at Black Iron Prison. The trailer is disappointing in the sense that it doesn't really feature any gameplay, but it's helping give us an idea of what the game will feel like.

The game's plot seems to revolve around uncovering what's going on in Black Iron Prison. The entire set-up and premise is severely reminiscent of Dead Space. I know I've already brought up the game numerous times but, come on, look at this trailer!

Tell me you're not getting Dead Space vibes which, again, makes sense considering many Dead Space alums are actually working on this game. From the oppressive, tight, terrifying corridors all the way to the messages scrawled across the walls. This is one Dead Space fans won't want to miss.

What's incredibly interesting is not long after The Callisto Protocol we'll be seeing an actual Dead Space remake. I'm looking forward to seeing how the two games stack up against each other. Will the original remade for modern hardware triumph? Or can the spiritual successor from a lot of the same people dethrone it? We'll know soon, friends!

The Callisto Protocol is slated for December 2nd for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. You can play it on pretty much everything except the Nintendo Switch!
