The Batman
The Batman Was Viewed Over 750,000 Times Its First Day On HBO Max

The Batman has finally hit HBO Max, after making over $750,000 at the theater globally. All this money was deserved of course, since The Batman freaking rocked. If you ask me it is the best Batman movie hands down. It's not even a contest. Now, I get to enjoy The Batman whenever I want on HBO Max, and yes, I've already watched it twice since it was released. I have a problem, okay? But based on the absolutely ludicrous amount of times the film was streamed the day it arrived on the streaming service, so do a lot of other people. Over 720,000 households streamed The Batman the day it launched on HBO Max. Now, this is apparently only for people who had the movie on for over 5 minutes, but that's still pretty insane. The source is Samba TV, which releases this kind of information all the time.

If you're wondering how The Batman is comparing to previous DC films, Samba has you covered there too. Wonder Woman 1984 reportedly did 2.2 million viewers over the weekend it came out whereas The Suicide Squad did 2.8 million viewers on its first weekend and the Snyder Cut of Justice League did 1.8 million viewers over its weekend. It might seem like The Batman is lower than those, but you need to remember the numbers for The Batman only represent one day, not a whole weekend. Once we can see some numbers for the entire weekend we'll have a better idea of how The Batman fared compared to the other DC flicks that hit the service.

If you're a hardcore DC fan or even just a The Batman fan, there are a few bonuses on HBO Max you can check out. They added that deleted scene that features Barry Keoghan's Joker, which is awesome all on its own. Beyond that, there are a few other special features you can watch. They're nothing expansive, clocking in at only a few minutes each but it's still better than nothing! Hopefully, we get even more special features when The Batman releases on 4K and Blu Ray for home release next month.

We'll also be getting some more out of The Batman universe on HBO Max. There's a show coming that will focus on Colin Farrell's Oswald Cobblepot, presumably after Gotham's flooding at the end of the film. We'll also get a second series that is focused on Arkham Asylum and its residents. Presumably, we'll also get a The Batman sequel at some point, based on how amazing the first film was.

The Batman will release on 4K and Blu Ray on May 24, 2022.
