She-Hulk: Tim Roth Discusses MCU Return

Tim Roth has been an awesome addition to She-Hulk: Attorney At Law. Those worried he might be too serious in his role as Abomination were quickly reassured as early as his first appearance. His return as Emil Blonsky from The Incredible Hulk, the MCU film no one talks about, has been surprisingly lighthearted. He's a completely different man, has seven soulmates, and enjoys meditation. Yeah, not what fans were expecting.

As you can imagine, he's been doing the rounds with different press outlets, discussing his return to the MCU! Most recently he spoke with Screen Rant about his return to the MCU, amongst other things. They asked him about what he knew in regard to his return, and he gave a surprisingly lengthy answer!

"It's a weird one. What happened was they asked me if I'd come in and do some voice stuff. I didn't know anything about Shang-Chi. I still haven't seen it; I'm terrible. But I know people loved it. They said, "We want to have the Abomination in there; the monster version. Would you come in and do the scene?" I think that's the order it went in.
And then they said, "Can we can we talk?" I said, "...Okay." I went to speak with Kevin Feige and Wendy [Jacobson] over at Marvel. They told me what they had in mind [for She-Hulk], and they gave me a stack of comic books. It was such fun. They told me what the journey was that they wanted my character to go on, and how it would different, which I thought was such fun. And they kept me involved in it from quite an early stage; we started getting scripts, we would chat, and we would get on Zoom thing.
What I liked about it was that it reminded me of conversations I had with Kevin and Stan Lee in the beginning. We were on set [of The Incredible Hulk], and we said, "What would happen to him? Where would he be?" And the idea that they came up with—I think—was that if they ever found him again, he would be in a combination safe combination. He'd be locked up and sunk to the bottom of the ocean. And in a way, that's where he's been! He's been in maximum security isolation; in a bubble for many, many years until we see him now. And who's gonna come to his rescue? She-Hulk."

You can catch up on She-Hulk: Attorney At Law over on Disney+! Then, you can catch new episodes every Thursday.
