I'm a huge DC fan, anyone who knows me knows that. I love almost everything they put out. That doesn't mean I don't notice the flaws, it just means I enjoy the content anyway. I'll admit, however, that Pennyworth wasn't my cup of tea. I tried watching it, but maybe I should have given it more time. I thought for sure it would be gone by now, but it lives! Pennyworth, with a brand new name, Pennyworth: The Origin Of Batman's Butler, has its third season heading to HBO Max soon. You can check out the trailer below.
So, with a name like that you already know what the show's about. The show follows Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon) way before Bruce Wayne sees his parents murdered. This is a young Alfred, and by all accounts... it is quite good! Which surprises me to hear, but also means I'll be giving it another chance! I'll catch up before season three and go from there! Season three even looks like it has a pretty exciting mind control storyline involving some kind of drug!
The third season will take place five years after the previous one. The season will have ten episodes and feature superheroes and supervillains, though no one is quite sure yet what that means. Three episodes will air on October 6th, and after that you can watch a new one weekly on Thursdays only on HBO Max.
Here's the official synopsis!
"Season three of the psychological thriller begins after a five-year time jump: the civil war is over, and a cultural revolution has changed the world for better or worse – ushering in a new age of Super Heroes and Supervillains."
If you haven't caught up on Pennyworth: The Origin Of Batman's Butler you can do so at your leisure on HBO Max. Then, you can catch the third season on October 6th, 2022.
