Resident Evil Village was a huge hit last year, people loved it! And it wasn't just because of Capcom's trademarked tall vampire lady, Lady Dimitrescu. Though, part of today's announcement says we'll be able to play as her later in the year. That's right, during Capcom's big showcase on Monday, we got some Resident Evil Village news and info! Capcom isn't ready to put the village to rest yet, so we can expect more content!

We've actually known for a while that some DLC was coming if I'm being honest. Capcom has been working on Resident Evil Village DLC for a while now. They weren't able to give us any details at the original announcement though, just because they didn't have any. Now they're far enough into development that they're able to share more information with us.

We're getting DLC for Resident Evil Village in three phases. The first DLC will focus on Rose, daughter of Resident Evil VII, and Village protagonist Ethan Winters. This will be story DLC and expand on the story of Resident Evil Village. Some believe this DLC could set the events in motion that could lead to whatever the next mainline Resident Evil game will be.

If you're not a fan of the first-person view Resident Evil has adopted with the two most recent entries, I have some good news for you. Capcom is adding a third-person mode to Resident Evil Village, making it more similar to older games in the franchise!

There will also be some updates to mercenaries mode along with everything else mentioned above. Three new characters will be playable, those being Lady Dimitrescu, Chris Redfield, and Heisenberg.

This last piece of information isn't related only to Resident Evil Village but is notable anyway! The multiplayer-centric Resident Evil experience, Resident Evil Re:Verse will release along with the rest of the DLC. You can purchase it all separately, or you can pick up the new gold edition of Resident Evil Village that will include all of the aforementioned DLC.

The Resident Evil Village DLC will release on October 28, 2022.
