New The Batman Photo Reveals New Gadget For Robert Pattinson's Batman

Let me start by saying I hope you all had an amazing Batman Day! Did you celebrate the Dark Knight in style, or did you forget it was even Batman day? Regardless of your answer, here's something we can all look forward to! Matt Reeves, director of the upcoming The Batman film, gave us a behind-the-scenes photo fresh from the editing room! He's been hard at work to complete the film in time for its 2022 release, and this is a fresh look at Pattinson's Batman. Reeves posted the picture to his Twitter account on Saturday, which features a screen with Pattinson's Batman on it. Fans were quick to point out the gadget he was holding too, which appears to be some kind of grappling gun if you ask me.

"Just popping my head out of the editing room for a moment to say #HappyBatmanDay! Can't wait to share a lot more with you all four weeks from today at #DCFanDome!" Reeves tweeted.

Reeves showed off the first trailer for the Batman at last year's DC FanDome. Reeves is expected to be attending the DC FanDome 2021 as well, where we already know we will be getting a new trailer for The Batman. He's already discussed the film quite a few times and talked about what we can expect from his version of Bruce Wayne. We already know this film won't be set in the DCEU and will feature a very different Bruce Wayne. This is a version of Bruce Wayne who is still very angry about what happened to his parents, and he's still learning to be the Batman.

"[We will] see him in the becoming of Batman. [We're going] to see him make mistakes as Batman. To see him grow, and fail, and be heroic, and do all of the things that we associate with Batman, but in a way that felt very human and very flawed." Reeves said previously, in regards to Bruce.

Other than that, we actually know very little about the film. We know who some of the villains are, but little about how they will be used. The cast is amazing, and I can't wait to see everyone in action this March. Robert Pattinson will be Bruce Wayne/Batman obviously and from there we have Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Colin Farrell as Oswald 'Oz' Cobblepot,  Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Paul Dano as the Riddler, and Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon.

You can catch The Batman in theatres on March 4, 2021!
