Loki season 1 poster
Loki Had Millions Of Different Endings

Loki was a hell of a ride and was better than most people were expecting. That's saying a lot since expectations were already sky-high for the Tom Hiddleston starring series. It was also the first of the Disney+ Marvel series to get confirmed for a second season, and the only one to date, I believe. Little is known about Loki season 2, but season one ended with the Multiverse literally breaking so, again, expectations are high. We've learned since the season closed that Loki had millions of different endings penned out for season one. We got the one we did because the show was going to continue. We got details on this when Michael Waldron, one of the Loki writers, sat down to speak with The Podcast.

When asked about whether or not the season one ending was different at any point, here's what Waldron had to say.

"A million different endings. There's always a different ending. But there was the original one season-ending, which I guess is just for me." before being asked if he was happy with how it ended, with which he replied "Totally, totally. That's great. A lot of that work was done in tandem with Eric Martin who was there on set. Because I was over lockdown in London, making "Dr. Strange" in the pandemic, and Eric and I wrote the finale together, and he deserves a lot of the credit for that great final moment."

We've seen a few Multiverse shenanigans since then. Spider-Man: No Way Home broke the Multiverse too when it brought back multiple Spider-Men. Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield both returned to portray their respective versions of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Another upcoming movie will be dealing with the Multiverse too. Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness will not just deal with the Multiverse but pick up threads left from WandaVision.

Sounds like the MCU isn't quite done exploring the Multiverse.

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness hits theaters on May 5th, 2022. No release date for Loki season 2 yet.
