Gotham Knights Gets New Gameplay Trailer Featuring Nightwing

The Summer Games Fest 2022 just happened on Thursday, and we saw a ton of awesome-looking games! It wasn't just new games, though! Some already announced titles got some updates, and among those is the upcoming Gotham Knights. Gotham Knights is being developed by WB Montreal and is the next big DC game, and will be followed next year by Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. Most recently fans have been lamenting a recent gameplay trailer, and while I'll admit the game doesn't look as polished as the Arkham series, I'm not as pessimistic. A game where you get to play as Nightwing, Robin, Red Hood, and Batgirl? You can sign me up immediately. The newest gameplay trailer focuses on Nightwing, and it sounds like we can expect a trailer for each character.

Here's the trailer, for those who want to check it out for themselves!

Fans still weren't impressed when the trailer was shown off during the event. Personally, I don't see anything particularly egregious about the gameplay though. I will say Nightwing does look like he flips a little too much. It might feel fine once you finally have your hands on the controller though. If I had one gripe about the game, it would be the traversal mechanics. The idea of Nightwing flying around on a glider everywhere isn't exactly something I'm on board with.

That being said, once again, it might feel amazing once you finally get to play it, though! That's what I'll be holding out hope for.

Gotham Knights was originally meant to release on previous and current-gen consoles. Sadly, the previous-gen versions of the games were canceled. The game was also delayed before finally settling on its new release date of October 25. The game will feature a two-player co-op experience and your friend can drop in at absolutely any time as one of the other characters. Actually, if you want two Nightwings you can even do that if you so choose. You can really play how you want. WB Montreal also promises that just because there are two Nightwings in a mission, they might play completely differently based on what you've upgraded. They did also note, however, that different characters would compliment each other better though.

If you're not sold on the Nightwing trailer, maybe wait until we see the other three characters in action.

You can start protecting Gotham on October 25, 2022, on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
