My Dress-Up Darling is growing bigger by the day. It was just a few days ago that we learned that My Dress-Up Darling was more popular than Attack on Titan and Demon Slayer last week! That is no small feat, my friends. Those are some of the most popular anime of all time! My Dress-Up Darling has just reached another amazing milestone! It turns out the My Dress-Up Darling manga has sold over a million copies since the anime started! That's not unusual for a manga to start selling big when the anime starts, but that's still pretty awesome! Looks like Marin Kitagawa reigns supreme after all!
Aniplex, the people handling the My Dress-Up Darling anime, revealed the news on Wednesday in an announcement. The original posting is in Japanese so I'm not going to bother copying it here, but we know pretty much what it says. They revealed that My Dress-Up Darling has sold 1 million copies since the anime aired a month ago! That means a lot of people are watching the anime, loving it, and running out to their local bookstores to purchase the manga. In fact, as of publishing, this article My Dress-Up Darling is sold out in all the online stores I checked. That includes Amazon and Indigo (a Canadian bookstore).
That isn't too surprising when you consider the fact that there's actually been a manga shortage since Covid, as strange as it sounds.
Personally, My Dress-Up Darling has been a highlight of my week since it started airing. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did, yet here I am anticipating it every week. Guess I'm a Marin simp just like everyone else. I even found an amazing Marin Kitagawa cosplayer and featured her here on Multiversal News this week.
