Remember the first Sword Art Online Progressive film? I don't, since I never got a chance to see it while it was in theaters and it wasn't available elsewhere until recently. As soon as I get an opportunity, I'll be watching it though. I know I'll love it since I love Sword Art Online. All bitterness aside, another Sword Art Online Progressive movie is coming. It even just got a new trailer and a release date! The Japanese release date isn't too far now, and hopefully the international release won't be far behind.

For those who are not aware, Sword Art Online Progressive is a version of Sword Art Online that retells the Aincrad arc but slower. We see more of the floors. The first movies covered the first arc, and though the second movie is covering a different arc than the second the shuffling isn't a huge deal. Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Scherzo of a Dark Dusk has a spiffy new trailer which you should check out below.

The film is releasing on October 22nd, though it should have been out earlier. The film was, unfortunately, delayed by Covid 19. The trailer features some new footage, the release date and the film's theme song by Eir Aoi. The song itself is titled "Shinzo". Eir Aoi are behind some of the most iconic Sword Art Online music as well, so they're well engrained in the series.

So, there's not currently any information on an international release date. Anime films have been releasing for short theatrical runs in North America recently, though, so I do expect the film to make its way overseas. And hopefully it dosen't take too freaking long.
