Spider-Man 2 Is Coming To PS5 In 2023 And Will Feature Venom!

The Playstation Showcase on September 9, 2021, was freaking nuts and featured some of the best games coming to the PS5 over the next couple of years. It also gave us our first look at Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and fans are already freaking out. The trailer featured both Peter and Miles, in full costume, beating up some thugs. It was the end of the trailer that people will be talking about for the next little while though. The last shot of the trailer reveals Venom, and man, he looks really cool.

As a long-time Spider-Man fan I loved Marvel's Spider-Man when it was released on PS4. I loved the DLC which introduced Black Cat. I loved Spider-Man: Miles Morales when that was released as well. To put it bluntly, I love Spider-Man and have since I was a kid. There wasn't a single moment in Marvel's Spider-Man where I wasn't smiling and it was my personal game of the year for 2018. I was hoping for Venom, but didn't think I'd get him... yet here we are. Insomniac might be about to make a better game than the first Spider-Man game, and I didn't think that was possible.

Not only is this game going to feature Venom but there is obviously another villain narrating the trailer. Some fans think it sounds like Kraven The Hunter, and I certainly wouldn't count him out. Both the voice actors of Peter and Miles are returning for the sequel, and the Playstation Blog confirmed that Tony Todd (Candyman, Several appearances as Darkseid) is voicing Venom. Let's not forget the awesome combo moves between both Spider-Men which you can check out in the trailer I posted above, in case you didn't have enough to be excited about.

It's a really good time to be a Spider-Man fan, except for one small piece of sad news. The game isn't coming until 2023, which is a long freaking time. All we can do is wait and hope that the game is as awesome as it's already looking. We'll no doubt get another trailer further down the road, which should give us a better idea of what we can expect from the story. Until then, I guess we can always replay Marvel's Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

If you want more Marvel video games, you definitely won't be lacking in those. Spider-Man 2 wasn't the only game shown at the Playstation Showcase. We also got a look at an upcoming Wolverine game that is still in development infancy. The Wolverine game is also being made by Insomniac, and if they put as much work and love into it as they did with Marvel's Spider-Man, Wolverine is going to be great at what he does... even in a video game.
