Sometimes you see the title of an anime and you just know you're in for a wild ride. That's what happened to me when I saw the title of this anime, announced last July. My Stepmom's Daughter Is My Ex is set to premiere this July, and at first, I thought it was porn. Can you really blame me though, with all the stepsisters getting stuck in dryers these days? Upon further research, I learned it was actually a Light Novel by Kyosuke Kamishiro. Kadokawa started serializing it all the way back in 2018, and then in July 2021, we learned of the anime adaptation. We saw the first trailer along with some art in January and now a new trailer has been released, too!

The trailer shows off some more footage of the anime as well as reveals the opening song for the series. “Deneb and Spica” by Dialogue+ is the song playing during the trailer, that will also serve as the opening. In terms of the voice cast, here's what we got:

Yume Irodo is being voiced by Rina Hidaka (Milim from Reincarnated As A Slime, Filo from Shield Hero, Kobachi from Kaguya-Sama)

Mizuto Irido is being voiced by Hiro Shimono (Connie from Attack On Titan, Zenitsu from Demon Slayer, Rindou from Tokyo Revengers)

Akatsuki Minami is being voiced by Ikumi Hasegawa (Aisha from Realist Hero)

Kogure Kawanami is being voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto (Genya from Demon Slayer, Bakugo from My Hero Academia, Ryou from Food Wars)

Isana Higashira is being voiced by Miyu Tomita (Miko Iino from Kaguya-Sama, Tirol from Sabikui Bisco, Akane from Haikyuu)
