Marvel's Midnight Suns Doctor Strange
Marvel's Midnight Suns Releases Doctor Strange Showcase

It's going to be a good year for superhero games. We've got Gotham Knights releasing this October, and Marvel's Midnight Suns is releasing the same month! Midnight Suns is a tactical RPG made by the creators of XCOM, another huge tactical RPG series that is very well regarded. Everything we've seen from Midnight Suns has been phenomenal, and now there's a new trailer featuring Doctor Strange.

Not gonna lie, it looks as awesome as the previously released Spider-Man trailer. Well, it's less a trailer and more of a showcase, and the five minute video shows off tons of Doctor Strange gameplay. Check it out!

If you're expecting this game to play like Marvel's Avengers or Marvel's Spider-Man you may walk away disappointed. As mentioned above this game is a tactical, turn based game as opposed to an action adventure game or a beat 'em up. There will also be cards to use specific abilities, and Doctor Strange has strengths related to this mechanic.

The Sorcerer Supreme sounds like he's going to work best in a support role. He can heal, he can buff and he can even return ability cards you've already used to your hand. This sounds like it could really change the tide of battle in your favor, and you might need it... XCOM games are known for being pretty difficult.

Doctor Strange isn't the only playable character, though. You'll be creating squads as you wish, and some of the other characters include some of your favorite Marvel heroes. Such as Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man, Nico Minoru, The Hunter, Captain America, Ironman, Magik, Ghost Rider, Blade, and Captain Marvel.

The official description of the game reads "“In Marvel’s Midnight Suns, players take on the role of the Hunter – the first customizable original hero in the Marvel Universe, brought back to life from a centuries-long sleep to lead the Midnight Suns, with heroes spanning across the Avengers, X-Men, Runaways, and more. Forced to unite in opposition to Lilith, Mother of Demons and parent to the Hunter, the Midnight Suns must rise up against the darkness in the face of fallen allies and with the fate of the world at stake.”

Marvel's Midnight Suns is releasing across various platforms on October 7th, 2022. That means you have time to beat it before giving Gotham Knights a shot on October 25th.
