Sadly, Marvel's Midnight Suns has been delayed again, as announced by Take-Two Interactive. The game is the highly anticipated turn-based strategy game being developed by Firaxis, the people behind the XCOM series. The game should have released in March 2022, but was delayed to October 7th. Now, there's no official release date anymore which is really disappointing for all the people who were looking forward to playing it this October.
Marvel's Midnight Suns wasn't listed in Take-Two's financial documents for October anymore. Instead, it seems to have been pushed for a broad release date of this fiscal year which ends in March 2023. That means we might be waiting until next year to finally play Marvel's Midnight Suns. As much as it sucks, as long as the time can be used to polish the game up we should absolutely take it as a win.
“We have made the decision to move back the launch timing of Marvel’s Midnight Suns to ensure the teams at Firaxis Games and 2K deliver the best possible experience for our fans. The title will launch later this fiscal year on Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. The Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch versions will follow at a later date.” is just part of the official statement, which you can see in its entirety below.
The most notable part of that statement isn't the delay, but the lack of information on when we can expect previous gen versions of the game. Gotham Knights was originally supposed to come out for current and last generation of consoles until the previous gen versions of the game were cancelled completely. Now, fans are wondering if Marvel's Midnight Suns will end up in the same boat. Nothing is official, but it certainly isn't looking good.
It isn't ideal, but at least the game is still being worked on.
Marvel's Midnight Suns should release sometime before March 31, 2023.
