Digimon just released an awesome new tactical game by the name of Digimon Survive. The game is making the rounds right now for being absolutely incredible. The game's story is, according to people who've played the games, incredible. Dark and well written with awesome plot twists. The gameplay is good too, and they did more than the bare minimum for the tactical gameplay. The digivolution mechanic is being quoted as really cool, and a good balance of risk/reward. There's been some new Digimon news quietly making the rounds too though. Digimon is revisiting the Digimon Adventure 02 cast with a brand new movie!

Some of you hardcore Digimon fans might remember that a few years ago we revisited the original Adventure cast with a series of movies. Digimon Adventure Tri picked up several years after Digimon Adventure 02 with the kids all grown up. The movies were good, but also criticized for a few plot points. Regardless, it was fun to catch up with the cast, even if it was slightly heartbreaking. We're being given the same treatment for the Adventure 02 cast.

As you can see in the image above, the cast is all grown up now! The voice actors from the Kizuna arc are returning, which means it might make sense that this movie is a sequel to Tri. I can't see them wanting to ditch Tri and Kizuna completely. Kizuna was a heartbreaking send off for the characters that fans first encountered so many years ago. Adventure 02: The Beginning is set to be the finale to the Adventure 02 cast as well.

In addition to the returning cast, the movie will feature two brand new characters who will feature heavily in the plot of the film. Story details are being, as expected, kept scarce for now.

This is one old school Digimon fans will want to keep an eye on. If you loved the original two Digimon series, and enjoyed Tri and Kizuna, you won't want to miss this one when it eventually releases. So far we know the Japanese voice cast is coming back, but there hasn't been any word on an English release. We expect news to come eventually.
