Call Of The Night
Call Of The Night 1x02 Review - "2ND Night: DO YOU DO LINE?"

Call Of The Night continued to surprise me with its second episode. It's such an easy watch, the stakes are low and it's, frankly, a lot of fun. Watching Nazuna and Ko together is a blast, and the show is already making strives to fix whatever issues I had with the first episode. Ko is more interesting, and their dynamic is silly and fun. The little twist at the end there has be excited for episode three, as well.

This episode addresses the issue of how the two communicate. It turns out it's not so easy, since Nazuna doesn't have a cell phone. We really get to dive into this early stage of their relationship as they start forming a genuine friendship. Ko made the same observation as me, too, later in the episode. Nazuna seems to enjoy lewd jokes but gets shy whenever talking about love.

She probably hasn't gotten close with many people, or I think that's what Call Of The Night wants us to believe, anyway. The way she freaks out when Ko exposes her neck was hilarious, and their constant playful banter is always entertaining.

The show doesn't shy away from developing them further though. Both characters were delved into a little more seriously. Ko with the backstory of the transceivers from when he was a kid and Nazuna confessing she was looking for him too.

In fact, I'd say when she confesses she was looking for him too, along with what appears to be jealous from Ko about her sucking blood from other people, it was a pretty heartfelt moments. If they keep up at this pace it may not take Ko very long to fall in love with Nazuna. Though, I'm starting to wonder if the same is true for her.

I think one of the big issues is... what happens when he does? After he's a vampire? Only time will tell, if we even ever reach that point in the first place.

The way the episode ended seemed to reveal who found the other transceiver from Ko's childhood, and I guess he's busted now for staying out all night. Hopefully we learn more about this girl in episode three.

Call Of The Night episode 2 was another awesome episode. It's really drawing me into the anime, and learning about Nazuna and Ko has been a real treat. They're funny together, and share some really heartwarming moments. If Call Of The Night keeps this up it might become my favorite out of all the summer anime.

You can catch up on Call Of The Night on HIDIVE, which currently has five episodes.
