Starfield Gameplay Finally Revealed With New Trailer

A lot of people didn't think it would happen, but we actually did get to see Starfield gameplay! There was actually a pretty lengthy gameplay trailer during Microsoft's game presentation on Sunday. By all accounts, the game looks pretty damn good. No doubt it will be fun, but I don't know if it will really revolutionize open-world RPGs as some have been saying. There was a lot of gray in the trailer, some I hope there's more to the style than bland, boring planets. I won't pass judgment until the game is finally here, though. The gameplay showed off some combat, some mining, and even some ship customization. Again, it all looks really good, but I still feel like something's missing.

With that being said, you guys should just check out the trailer for yourselves. Here is fifteen minutes of Starfield gameplay!

One part of the trailer that didn't disappoint was the character creator. It has a staggering amount of options and lots of customizability. That's good news since these games are all about your own character and creating your own stories. You should have enough options to make, more or less, any kind of character you want. You'll also pick from different backgrounds and abilities which will change how certain characters talk to you or certain dialogue options. It's all pretty standard Bethesda stuff. Now, if they can release this game with absolutely 0 glitches, now that would be revolutionary.

This is the first new Bethesda IP in over two decades, which is a long freaking time. They've mostly been coasting by on their powerhouse franchises, Elder Scrolls and Fallout. Elder Scrolls in particular is somewhat notorious now. The last full game was got was Skyrim, which was released a long freaking time ago. Sure, we've seen Skyrim release on almost every platform, with various remasters, since then but that's not what people want. Elder Scrolls Online might scratch the itch for some, but not those who prefer their Elder Scrolls be completely offline. Elder Scrolls VI is in development but who knows when we'll finally see that. Certainly not until Starfield officially releases.

Starfield should release sometime in 2023.
