Smallville Podcast Coming From Tom Welling And Michael Rosenbaum

Do we have any Smallville fans hanging around? We must, somewhere! The series is old, older than I want to admit but it was one of my first introductions to DC Comics and I remember it fondly. The show recently had a very fancy 20th anniversary Blu-ray set released and there's reportedly an animated series in the works. That series is being made by Michael Rosenbaum and Tom Welling, if they're to be believed. Now, those two former stars of Smallville are launching a Smallville-themed podcast!

No, really, I'm serious!

The podcast in question is called Talkville and it's going to start on July 13, 2022. That's exactly a month away for those who are paying attention! They were probably inspired by tons of other podcasts that are doing similar things with their shows. They'll be, I'm assuming, rewatching Smallville and talking about it. Who knows what kind of behind-the-scenes information we'll get from this!

That animated series was teased last year, and fans are still waiting on an update from that. Everything the two Smallville alums have said about the series has been positive thus far. They even want to bring back other actors who were on the series.

"We're working on animated series that picks up right after our Smallville [finale] and...telling our own story. Our vision is that we get Erica. It might be tough to get Allison. But even Sam Jones III [who played Pete Ross] and Lionel Luthor is going to be a big part of that. John Glover wants to do it, we've already been into this. We've already gotten animation, we just don't have the stories yet because Al and Miles are busy doing Tim Burton-like movies. As soon as they are done with that, we're going to do this. I want to be Clark's voice, I want Erica to be Lois's voice. That's going to be the fun of it. I think there's a story that Al and Miles are going to tell that's individual and new and call it a multiverse thing. But let's see where it goes, and it'll be fun, so yeah." Welling said last year.

Smallville originally aired in 2001 and lasted for ten whole seasons!
