It feels like we only just got the first trailer for Batwoman season three, but here we are with a second one! This one gives us a way better look at the upcoming third season, including some classic Batman villains. We got to see both Mad Hatter and Renee Montoya but there was one noticeable absence. There's been a ton of hype surrounding Poison Ivy who is confirmed to be a part of the season. Bridget Regan was confirmed as the actress a few weeks ago but was conspicuously absent from the trailer. Perhaps she won't appear until a little later in the season? Either way, I'm going to put the trailer right here so that you can check it out. I thought it was pretty awesome, personally.
The highlight of the trailer was obviously the Mad Hatter. We just don't know what version of the character this is. Previous interviews have implied that these characters we'll be seeing aren't the original villains. To me, personally, it reads as random people are going to find these trophies and take up the villain mantles. If that's the case, this version of the Hatter might be a completely unique character. One that was made just for the Batwoman tv series. That also means we can't exactly pinpoint what these characters will be like!
There's also a quick shot in the trailer that fans are convinced revealed Killer Croc. This villain is more straightforward. What I mean by that is that we are more likely to get classic Killer Croc. It's not like someone can find Croc's skin, put it on and become a new Killer Croc. This is just my own theory though, so keep that in mind!
The quote I'm referring to above is from when Javicia Leslie spoke to Entertainment Weekly after season 2 ended. Her wording there is what makes me think these are just regular Gotham Citizens who find these items. Perhaps it will be a mix of both classic and new though, which would be the best of both worlds if you ask me. Here's the quote!
"So freaking epic. Like literally a lot of your epic Batman villains, we have all of their weapons and they've all been released into the river and people are going to find [them] and you're going to find the effects that these weapons have on these normal Gotham citizens and then becoming like these supervillains, and it's just going to be so much fun. I can't wait! I'm excited because we're about to start shooting season 3 and I can't wait to read the scripts and to see where it goes."
We'll know more about Batwoman soon enough! Batwoman season three will premiere on October 13, and the show will be present at the DC FanDome three days later on October 16! I'll be looking forward to welcoming all these new characters into the Arrowverse!
