Kingdom Hearts 4 Revealed At 20th Anniversary Event

So, in a surprising turn of events Square Enix has officially announced Kingdom Hearts 4! That's right, ladies and gentlemen! Kingdom Hearts 4 is confirmed, it's real and it's happening! What's crazy is that a lot of people didn't think that this new game would be announced. For the record, we got updates on two other games as well, but Kingdom Hearts 4 is definitely the highlight here! The reveal trailer came at the end of an over 7:00 minute video meant to show off the future of the Kingdom Hearts series! And man does Sora ever look weird now!

Here's the trailer for those who want to see it for themselves. You have to skip quite a ways into the video to see the Kingdom Hearts 4 footage though.

There's a lot to process here, and it'll probably take me most of the day to even wrap my head around it. I did not wake up today expecting a Kingdom Hearts 4 announcement! As you can see, the art style is completely different. Sora is looking pretty spiffy in these brand-new realistic graphics. The trailer is also very reminiscent of another Nomura trailer from years ago. I'm talking, of course, about the Final Fantasy versus XIII trailer. There have been rumors since Kingdom Hearts 3 that aspects of that project would be coming on in the future of Kingdom Hearts. This is no confirmation but it certainly looks likely.

There was also a very cool piece of artwork released earlier on Saturday which teased the reveal. Fans thought they were being trolled, but I guess not, eh? The artwork will be posted down below. For now, we're just going to have to play the waiting game. Kingdom Hearts fans are no strangers to this, though. I mean, we had to wait a ridiculous number of years for Kingdom Hearts 3 to finally come out.

Kingdom Hearts 4 will release sometime in 2029.

That's a joke. Kingdom Hearts 4 has no official release date so far.
