DC Fandome NFT's
DC Comics is Giving Away Free NFT's

The DC FanDome 2021 is quickly approaching, and we'll soon be getting some awesome DC news! NFT's are a relatively new digital... something. If we're being completely honest, I don't know too much about them. I know that depending on who you ask they're either amazing or terrible. They're apparently incredibly bad for the environment, and completely useless. DC is getting on this trend, if they haven't already since I'm not 100% sure they haven't already. To celebrate the DC FanDome 2021, DC  will actually be giving away free NFT's!

Palm Studio NFT is the company that will be releasing these NFT's on October 5, so Wednesday of next week. Believe it or not, the man who chose the NFT's was Jim Lee, DC's CCO. Jim Lee isn't just DC's CCO, he's also an incredible artist who has put out some awesome pieces lately. You should definitely check out his social media, he posts some really awesome DC Comics stuff.

DC Comics Free NFT's

So what exactly are the free DC NFT's? Well, they're... Okay, honestly I don't know exactly what they are. But they feature one of five different DC characters, those being Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Superman, and Batman. Each NFT has a different level of rarity, too. Think of Gear from a video game. The NFT's can be common, rare, or legendary. It's almost like a loot box in a way!

Jim Lee commented in a statement on Wednesday, as did Palm Studio.

"We spent a lot of time on how to translate and adapt these classic covers into a 21st century format such as NFTs. This drop pays homage to our 87 year history while visualizing a future in which NFTs play a foundational role in novel ways of interacting with DC content and unlocking new experiences." Lee said.

Palm Studio, specifically Dan Heyman (a co-founder), on the other hand, said "It's immensely rewarding to work with a partner like DC who understands that blockchain is more than a technology, it's a sustainable storytelling tool that can reshape the relationship between creators and fans. What does it mean to be a fan? What does it mean to be a collector? These are age-old questions that we get to watch creators like DC answer in brand new ways every day."

Why don't you let me know what you think of these over on the Multiversal News Facebook or Twitter (both linked down below. We're working on buttons!). I'd love to hear what you think.
