Remember Konosuba? I do! It was an awesome, hilarious anime that released quite some time ago now. It received two awesome seasons, then sort of… vanished for a while. Oh, it got a movie too, I guess! But now it’s getting a third season… and a spin-off! Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! will revolve around Megumin, one of the core characters of Konosuba. Between Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! and the third season of Konosuba proper, fans will be eating good soon!
Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! will release with the Spring anime season of 2023, which should start this upcoming April. There was a new trailer very recently, so fans have gotten their best look at the upcoming series so far.

As you can see some of the characters introduced in the movie will be returning to this spin-off series. It’s looking like we won’t see other Konosuba characters such as Kazuma and Aqua, however. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be excited anyway! Megumin is a fan favorite, after all!
As of now there’s been no word on where you’ll be able to watch Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World, but it should make its way overseas around the same time as it airs in Japan. Crunchyroll is a safe bet, though, and you can even catch up on the first two seasons of Konosuba - and the movie - on there right now.
The official synopsis for the spin-off series, taken from the light novel volumes, reads "One year before a certain useless goddess and NEET extraordinaire hit the scene, Megumin, the "Greatest Genius of the Crimson Magic Clan," is hard at work. Ever since a life-changing encounter in her youth, the young wizard has dedicated her every waking moment to the pursuit of the ultimate offensive magic, Explosion! (Well...every moment not spent hustling food from her self-proclaimed rival.) And while the big sister's away, the little one will play. On a routine trip into the woods, Megumin's little sister, Komekko, finds a strange black kitten. Little does she know that this cat plays a key role in unsealing a Dark God's tomb..."
